At the end of Via Lampugnani is Villa Cusani Tittoni Traversi, built
in the eighteenth century designed by the architect Giuseppe
Piermarini. Just to Piermarini, in collaboration with the Villoresi,
was responsible for the creation of the grandiose park.
Around 1840 the complex was greatly expanded and redesigned by
Pelagius Palagi Bologna, which in addition to treating the
architectural parts, also designed the interior decorative elements.
The Palagi worked at the villa between 1817 and 1846, erecting a
building in the park in the form of a Gothic tower and expanding the
building. This building stands on the complex of buildings that once
formed a Franciscan monastery. The ancient environments are now
occupied by a splendid mineralogical collection, which is
qualitatively one of the best in Europe.
The ground floor rooms decorated with presents elements derived from
different styles: neoclassical, Gothic, Baroque, Arabic. Very
interesting is the chapel dedicated to St. Francis, built in the
eighteenth century, which has a stucco ornaments, paintings and
parts made by the brothers Gerli.
Behind the villa opens the beautiful Municipal Park, surplus gardens
